Cockney

Okay, here is your opportunity to try a hand at the age old cockney rhyming slang.
For those who live under a rock 'Cockney' is the language of Londoners that replaces normal terminology with predominately, pop culture references to replace that normal terminology. Probably the most famous one is;

New Life

I Love my church (the body!!) It is called New Life and we are in Caledonia MI. We have great elders, and a wonderful family of believers who have a great variety of gifts. The worship is alive and so is the preaching of the word (where occasionally i get an opportunity to do).
It is very important to be a part of a church that helps you grow in your gifts and talents and not lets just the ministry team do it (whatever that means). Psalm 110 says that the people volunteer freely in the day of his power. I heard a statistic that said that most American churches have 20% of the people doing 80% of the work, where it should really be the other way around. I believe we build the church as each member is being built up. Our senior elder Andrew Hughes preached last year on the difference between the anointing on David and Saul. Saul lived in a boxed in, flask anointing, he was a carbon copy of what he had grown up in and he became what people expected of him. But David was a horn annointing, the natural and unique gift that only God can create in you. That is what our church is looking like these days. Mature, growing still, but as varied as it can bwhile still being of one Spirit, voice and calling.

my Space is the source for all good music

My Space is indeed the revolution in the discovery of music artist unsinged and signed. I have found many of my new favorite bands by surfing through My Space. I recently started a page; - myspace.com/winkwink78 - And over the next few months i will be posting my writings and also (by the help of a flip video) i will film myself doing these readings (God help me). What a source...

Somethings gotta change

I love this verse, it is awesome:
Exodus 3;14 - And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; and He said, you shall say this to the Israelites, I AM has sent me to you.
Every time God describes himself through a name he is revealing a little more about who he is; his personality. The named referred to here is YHWH, or its verb; HAYAH, to be. In fact all of God's names are actually verbs simultaneously.
But i love this Name, and the comfort it is meant to give his people as they were slaves in Egypt.
I believe God is the ultimate truth and every other 'truth' that exists today has to bend and stretch until it is broken under God ultimate truth. God was going to deliver Israel out of Egypt and he started his plan by telling them a little about himself.
And this is where it gets pretty awesome.
I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE. There is no side stepping that one! God has no intentions of changing, no intentions of bending rules and parameters he makes for himself (even though God is limitless). God is saying that he is not going to change, so evidently something else has too.
Apply this to your life, any situations that are coming or against you that are unjust and are in fact stepping over your rights as a child of God. God will not change, he will be what he will be; now apply the power of that name to your situation, confess, pray it, call on it, prophesy it!! If my God is not going to change then something is going to have to change!!!
When you pray about the things going on in the world, don't settle for what you see, it may look like Egypt; slavery, imprisonment, looking like there is no way out; but God is your banner and he has no intention of changing; his glory is stubborn, his steadfastness is trustworthy!! I have the biblical grounds for praying in and with name concerning all things on earth; i believe we should use his name with glory and power and say to the world God is not going to change, so you change!!

Famous last words

Just before a famous person dies they normally have something to say; something profound, something noble, something that will stand the test of time. They are called 'Famous last words'.
Jesus is one of the very very few people who had very famous last words before he dies yet they were not his last words! Rock and roll for that!!
I would like to look at one line from the cross from Luke 23; 34 -
(This might take me a few posts to accomplish).

FATHER FORGIVE THEM, FOR THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING -

The first thing to do is to debunk the theological idea that i heard very recently that Jesus was only speaking to the people around him, his killers the Roman's, and the immediate audience around him. This is a truth, but not the whole truth.
Fundamentally we know that his death on the cross made atonement for our sins; yet it says in Romans 5;6 - that while we were still sinners, at the right time (appointed) Christ died for us. If Jesus' death was at the right time, still today stands the test of time, surely his corresponding words would be of equal eternal value.
Christ died for all (once and for all), even those who are yet to be born. I think of Nathan and Anna, Joe's kids and i think man alive Jesus died over 2000 years ago for these two kids, and it was the right time.
I'll get to the actual verse next time.

God with you -

Acts 10;38 says -
(The message was preached about) How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how he went about doing good and, in particular, curing ALL who were harassed and oppressed by the (power of the) the devil, FOR GOD WAS WITH HIM.
This year when God with with you, you will find that you will have the obligation to conquer anything that comes before you and become victorious over all things that are seemingly under the power of the enemy. Jesus did these miracles by two separate things ; the anointing and the presence of God. Live in the presence and move in the anointing this year, and nothing will be too much for the LORD to do through you.

Demo only

I have been enraptured by this verse in Romans 5;8. it says;
But God DEMONSTRATES His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. It has warmed my heart to read this verse and challenged me all at the same time; that's probably because there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. I can enjoy a verse as equally as i can be poised to change because of its revelatory value. We as Christians need to be demonstrator's. Christ tells us that anyone who claims that they love him must obey his commandments, and Christ summed up all the commandments of the law into two; Love God and Love your neighbor. Love needs a demonstration. Don't tell anyone you love them unless there is a demonstration of it. You can't love the poor, the homeless or anyone else for that matter unless it is shown through whatever way the LORD helps you manifest it. I am pleased to know that God loves me; and further more; he demonstrates it to me. Don't know where to start? Prayer, prayer is the love language of God's people. Praise the LORD for the demonstration of his love. A last quick note. When Jesus was on the cross it was not Christ who was showing love, it was God showing it through Jesus' act of selfless obedience. When we help another person, pray for another person, or just simply be there for that person, we are demonstrating not our love, but His God's love to people.

This (apparently) is a picture of Jesus, i also have some shots of Mary too, she a little less camera shy than my LORD. This is a stupid post but one thing i must say, and that is; Jesus, pretty much rocks!! There is no-one like him and i love him to bits.

08-03 - Bill Johnson

My brother has linked this man and his ministry on his site, but i kudo's his recommendation. There are very few men who have captured me by deep and rich teachings today, as to make me want to hear everything the man has to say. Bill Johnson is a very wise and mature man, who is not just head knowledge, but a practitioner of sing wonder and miracles too. He kind of reminds me of the method of a certain Jew from back in the day; Jesus. At the beginning of the book of Acts the writer (Luke) says;
In the former account i made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach. Teaching must have a doing. if you teach miracles you are obligated to move in them; i suppose that's why a lot of leaders today stick to other topics.
All that he BEGAN BOTH TO DO AND TO TEACH. I pray we can all do what we teach, it's easy to shoot your mouth off, it's harder to be what you say you are. This man, Bill Johnson is this very imbodiment, in a very humble and wise man. I have recieved much joy from hearing his teachings and i have no doubts that anyone reading this will too.

08-01 - A New Year

John 16;24 - Up to this time you have not asked a (single) thing in my name (as presenting all that I AM) but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy (gladness, delight) may be full and complete.

I don't make new years resolutions, i just pray and apply myself to be better. I have a list of things i want to do 'better' but above all i want to know God better.
Let 2008 be a year of increased relationship.
Enjoy this year by making your joy complete.
