High Lights Low Lights

I enjoyed the Grammy's last night, but it was split in the middle concerning the high lights and the low lights. I'm not talking about the winners and loosers because most of them were pretty obvious before hand. That part of the show is a non informative part for you and I. Its the live performances. They are the indicatprs to what is considered our main stream, popular music in various genre's.
One of my fav parts of the Grammy's is the collaborations and also the due's paid to all the great musicians who have contributed to both performance and production over the last 1000 years.
But because we live in an opinion-obsessed world on the internet, i am not one to shy away form giving mine.

HIGHT LIGHTS: Taylor Swift singing '15'. She is a great little song writer, the low part was Miley Cyrus' over the top duet that lost the subtlty of the song to self indulgent meandering, commonly known as 'harmony'.

Justin Timberlake, Al Green, and Boyz To Men singing Let's stick together. Just a good song personified by three very talanted artists.

Paul McCartney and Dave Foo Fighter playing a Beatles number. Random song choice, but after all its the beatles.

Radiohead and the USC marching band could have gone on for hours it was so intense, kind of wish that version was on in Rainbows. Allthough Thom Yorke freaked my wife out. Truly the alternative portion of the show. Never change Radiohead.

Adele (see also low Lights).

Estele and K. West. Kw looked liked M. Jackson, while Estele remained flawless and perfectly pitched throughout. She is awesome.

LOW LIGHTS: Carrie Underwood. The sound track to a slow death in a southern state. I dont think there was a hint of a melody in this brash dirge that made no sense form start to finish. Quit the biz Carrie, you suck.

Before Adele, there was Sugarland, who's lead singer looks like Kirstin Dundts older sister, but with wacky facial expressions and a voice that promotes suicidal acts. I wanted to rip my arms off listenning to it, praying it would end quickly.

All the Rap content was lame. not real hip hop, commercial hip hop. Its sad because i like a good portion of hip hop, but all of that was below par.

kenny Chesney? Why is he still around? "Kenny Chesney believes that all good things start with a good song" Well write one, and then we'll talk, you dull musician who has an incapability to write anything resembeling a melody.

the end.
