ROMANS 8; 12 - So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live accoring to the flesh.
When I read this, i instantly felt its freedom. When opportunities to sin, or when strong temptations come, i felt the strong urging of the Holy Spirit coming from this scripture, but the wording was slightly different. He said to me - you are under no obligation of the flesh. It hit me, hard! That I don't owe the flesh a darn thing. The mind of the flehs seeks that whitch satisfies the flesh, but the mind after the Spirit will seek that which pleases the Holy Spirit.
Its like the flesh needs to be satisfied, but you are not obligated to give it any such thing. The word tells us that we have the power to escape temptation, because God does not give us what we can't handle.
In this lesson i learn't to stand up against the flesh and cast my burdens onto Jesus alone. I am responsible for my temple to be pure before the LORD, and my goodness, it is liberating to know and to stand against sin, in victory, and say i am not obligated to the flesh, but to the pleasing of the Holy Spirit!!
