God with you -

Acts 10;38 says -
(The message was preached about) How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how he went about doing good and, in particular, curing ALL who were harassed and oppressed by the (power of the) the devil, FOR GOD WAS WITH HIM.
This year when God with with you, you will find that you will have the obligation to conquer anything that comes before you and become victorious over all things that are seemingly under the power of the enemy. Jesus did these miracles by two separate things ; the anointing and the presence of God. Live in the presence and move in the anointing this year, and nothing will be too much for the LORD to do through you.

Hi Ben - glad to see you're blogging again! Hope all is weel with you and your beloved

Interesting blog again.. but I have a theological question for you! Hope it's ok lol (No, I'm not looking for debate lol - too busy!!!)

Would you agree with Paul's statement in 2 Cor 4:4?

"In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."

The implications of this particular passage is that Lucifer holds control over the minds of unbelievers... unless they recieve enlightenment from God (any means of revelation).

Do you feel that ANY obsactle must be conquered in the here and now, or do we rather hold to Christ to bring the COMPLETE conquest in the day of vengance?

Happy days my friend!!

first of all great to hear from you. I hope you are doing well T.
I'm not quite sure where the transition of my post to your comment/question comes together. I guess i am having a simple day today; could you explain further?

Sure! :-) Again - not wanting to start another debate lol!!

It's again just a question of theology - If Christ is indeed victorious in this age then satan should not be considered to be the God of it. However if the victory that belongs to Christ is indeed coming to fruition in the day of "Jezreel" then it is not possible that everything is today as it is promised in His return. Though Christ rules in us, He does not rule in the world - yet, though he has conquered and overcome. He waits for the fathers time.

The scripture places emphasis on patients and endurance in waiting for the salvation of God - a promise we have here and in the age to come! But it employs caution when regarding the plans and commandments of men.

If we are rash we may be acting presumptuously (hence the 'do not sin in your anger' as an example), so perhaps not everything we come accross can be overcome in our own way! It is overcome by God, and sometimes bought about through death.

Ok, so to end my waffle... our brothers today still suffer under persecution (imprisonment, torment), therefore as a body we still suffer. Are these obstacles which can be overcome - or are they ones we endure in the overcming victory of the salvation of God?

of course all things can only be made victorious through Christ; but why the fudge would God make his own power insufficient in his own creation? satan may be the god of the unbelievers and that world system (because really its not hard to discern that) but he is not the god of the world that i live in; today. When Christ ascended into heaven he sat at the right hand of the father (symbolically meaning the seat of authority) and it was given to him, right then, the name that is above all names. Our job as Christians is to bring that heavenly reality into this earthly realm, today. If we have no power to overcome today, whats the point? twiddle our thumbs while we wait for the 'rapture'?

Oh the debates begin.

Wheres Elwyn?

Are you there boyo?????

My personal belief is that we have the power to overcome but I have found that, as Ben has said and you Tefi agree, the victory comes from Christ from any viewpoint.

I think about my life now and the areas I would love to overcome in and still struggle with. I'm like "God, Sort it Out!!!" and God is "Sorting it Out", but maybe not in the way I think that He should.

Yes Teif there are many people who suffer perscution and suffer much at the hands of demonic forces at work in ungodly people. But in their hearts they are free. Gal 5v1. Also John said that our Faith has overcome the world, why? coz we believe. Its not what life does to you but what God does with your life.

Painful times come, and they also go. Tried in the fire but come out gold.

The bible says (NLT translation), can't remember where "Overwhelming victory is ours in Christ Jesus".

Remember our discussions before about us being created beings trying to understand the Creator? well, I will live as though nothing is impossible for God and place my trust in His wisdom and His timing and though He slay me, yet will I praise Him.

Peace,
Joe...

Another point here about overcoming -
Like is said the power of satan is not over me because i live under Christ's rule.
Romans 6;11 - Even so consider yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 6;14 - For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Romans6;17-18 - But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching of which you were committed, and having been freed from sin you became slaves of righteousness.

I can't say much for those who don't know Jesus, because they are blinded by the god of that world system; that's why it is a Christians job to unveil their hearts and their eyes by the preaching of the word allowing the Holy Spirit to do what he does best, so that they may come out of darkness and into his wonderful light. All of Romans 6 talks about the transfer we make from sin and death to life and righteousness. In this new 'world' we are made anew, under Christs rule.
Any deficiency in this truth is on our part not living up to the word.
We demonstrate the truth by living in its fullness, not being manipulated by the lesser truths of this world we currently live in.

Hi Ben! I'm doing well thanks, still busy but coping! I've recently started an open learning degre and I think it's going to be quite time consuming - though hopefully I can do it!

Joe don't scare me!! He's too far away lol, n a bit slower now?? (hee hee just teasing joe)

It's great to debate sometimes, but friendship is more important, 'win an argument and lose a friend' I was told once and it is so right. None of us ahave a complete handle on things, it's why we all have different ideas somtimes.

I guess when it comes to the crunch, it's who says that he is on the lord's side that will win - and as romans 5 tells us 'He died while we were still sinners' - whether we understand much or little it's those born of the spirit that inherit eternal life, those who overcome.

Hey, all the best!
